ny magazine has a little blurb about the growing popularity of “entomophagy” (eating bugs). i’m all for some crazy food and can be a sucker for novelty, but somehow i just don’t think bugs have a place in high end (or low end) restaurants. one place is rimming cocktail glasses with “grasshopper salt”. what does that even mean?
i’ve eaten flying termites before and they taste a little like popcorn that needs seasoning. and you know what? i’d rather have popcorn. let’s save the insects for harder times and stick to trying making regular food taste good. deal, new york city?
